A nanobrewery is born: In 2006 Schooner EXACT was created; the brainchild of three friends over a batch of homebrew. Our mission was to provide quality craft beer for our neighborhood. In 2007, the first beer began to flow to the public through pubs, alehouses, and restaurants quickly moving beyond our West Seattle borders. Two years later, we increased production to a 10-bbl system and small taproom. In 2012 we opened a family-friendly restaurant in the SODO neighborhood.
In addition to the restaurant, our beer is available throughout the state of Washington, Oregon, and in Tokyo, Japan. Schooner EXACT produces over a dozen varieties of beer including seasonals, barrel-aged imperials, and sour ales. We also love to experiment with new ideas or collaborate with our friends on one-off beers, just for fun.
Schooner EXACT is not only proud of its West Seattle roots, but tries to celebrate state history in its year-round beers. The brewery itself is named for the first ship of non-indigenous settlers to arrive in Seattle’s harbor; the schooner EXACT carried the Denny party to Alki Point in late 1851.
Join us in supporting local farmers through local brewing. The beer in this series is brewed with locally-sourced hops and grains.
